Teamwork Tuesday ~ Arina P

Arina P will be 6 years old soon from Eastern Europe. She has big brown eyes, brown hair and is described as being calm in nature. Arina has down syndrome and lucky for her, she doesn't have any heart conditions. Her medical records do note that she has "bacterial difference" in her kidneys. She is also allergic to eggs, citrus fruit and red vegetables. Her Reece's Rainbow profile states that her kidney dysfunction may be a reaction to eating the items she is allergic to. She will need to see a specialist when she gets home to address those problems along with getting corrective glasses since she is farsighted. Arina is such a beautiful little girl, let's get her a family for her 6th birthday. I couldn't think of a better gift!

She has over 7k in her grant, if you would like to add to that or check out her profile please click http://reecesrainbow.org/388/arina-p.  Here's some more information on adoptions for her area:
  • 4 trips
  • 1st trip, Both parents for 5-7 days
  • Wait 2-3 months for court
  • 2nd trip, both parents for 5 days for court, both go home

Heath

Can I just say that I am super excited for Teamwork Tuesday this week? This week we are all highlighting Heath! He is a sweet 10 1/2 year old boy who is in the hearts of many advocates including a special friend of mine Leah who has made it her mission to raise as much money as she can for him.

Heath has Down syndrome and is very small for his age. There are no details on whether he can walk, talk or has other medical conditions but what we do know is that he needs a loving family ASAP. He has been transferred to a less than ideal institution already so the faster a family can go save him the better. He has over $3500.00 in his grant and that number will keep increasing if my friend has any say in it. She is devoted to finding him a family. If you would like to donate to Heath please follow the link: Heath.

If you would like to learn more about Heath from a family who met him at his present institute, please follow these links:

Teamwork Tuesda ~ Carina

This little beauty is almost 5 and is facing imminent transfer to an adult mental institution! Her name is Carina and is described as being very calm. She has a few medical mentions on her profile but nothing out of the ordinary for a child with Down syndrome. She has a tiny hole in her heart which may or may not close on it's own. This is fairly common in children with Down syndrome along with the general population. She also has a heart murmur, moderate intellectual, physical and motor function delays.

Carina is currently in an orphanage in Eastern Europe, but the area she is in tends to transfer kids around the age of 4-5 so we need to desperately find her a family. She already has a sizeable grant so  her future family has a head start. Here's some information regarding adoptions in her area:

  • 3 trips are required
  • 1st trip, Both parents for 5-7 days
  • 2-3 month wait for the judge to appoint the court hearing
  • Both parents travel for 2nd trip about 7 days, both parents leave after the court hearing
  • 30-day waiting period is NOT waived for special needs
  • Only one parent would need to return after the 30-day wait
  • Up to 5 young children in the home if the family income is sizeable (the adopted child being the 5th child)
  • Both parents must be younger than 60 years
  • Parents may NOT be currently on anti-depressants; prior history of anti-depressants may be permitted on a case-by-case basis
  • No criminal background (DWI's acceptable on a case by case basis)
  • EASY TRAVEL IN-COUNTRY
  • Fee includes orphanage donation
  • Married couples and single heterosexual mothers may apply
  • Un-related children may not be adopted simultaneously
  • Total program and travel fees approx $35-40K
Please share her profile and donate to her. Let find her a family so she will never step foot in an institution!

Teamwork Tuesday ~ Isaiah 3G

Isaiah is an adorable 5 1/2 year old boy with Down syndrome. He has light brown hair and pretty gray eyes. When I look at Isaiah's picture I see endless possibilities and so much potential. Where is his family? So many children around his age face being transferred to a mental institution, I pray that his family finds him soon. A mental institution is no place for a child like Isaiah.

Here's some general information regarding adoption within the region Isaiah is currently in:
  • 3 trips
  • Both parents for 2 weeks
  • Wait 2-3 months for court
  • Both parents travel for 2nd trip
  • 30 day wait period after court, one parent returns
  • No family size restrictions
  • Both parents must be younger than 60 years
  • Total program fees under $25,000, plus travel expenses
  • Fee includes a $500 orphanage donation
  • Married couples and single mothers may apply
  • CANADIANS WELCOME!
If you are interested in more information for Isaiah please contact Reece's Rainbow. He has a sizeable amount in his fund already, the more we can donate the better the chances are that a family will commit to him. Please share his page if you cannot commit or donate.

Happy Birthday Priss!

In my daughter's eyes, I am a hero.
I am strong an' wise,
And I know no fear.
But the truth is plain to see:
She was sent to rescue me,
I see who I wanna be, in my daughter's eyes.

In my daughter's eyes, everyone is equal,
Darkness turns to light,
And the world is at peace.
This miracle God gave to me,
Gives me strength when I am weak.
I find reason to believe, in my daughter's eyes.

An' when she wraps her hand around my finger,
Oh, it puts a smile in my heart.
Everything becomes a little clearer.
I realise what life is all about.
It's hangin' on when your heart has had enough;
It's givin' more when you feel like givin' up.
I've seen the light: it's in my daughter's eyes.

In my daughter's eyes, I can see the future.
A reflection of who I am,
An' what will be.
An' though she'll grow an', some day, leave:
Maybe raise a family,
When I'm gone, I hope you'll see,
How happy she made me,
For I'll be there, in my daughter's eyes.

There aren't enough words that I can piece together to even begin to describe the love and appreciation I have for Presley. For years I would dream of having a daughter, I pictured her beautiful, funny, sweet, fun, and carefree, she is all of those. She is everything I wanted and more in a daughter. Happy 2nd Birthday baby girl, I love you to the moon and back.

Teamwork Tuesday ~ Chandler

Chandler is a gorgeous blue eyed blondie that just turned 2. He has Down syndrome and a patent foramen ovale - which is when the atrial septum does not close properly after birth. According to the http://www.clevelandclinic.org/, patent foramen ovale is prevelant in 25% of the general population and most people never need treatment for this condition.

Chandler is lucky enough to be in an orphanage that is known to take great care of their children. However, the best orphanage is no match for a loving family. So let's find his loving family to fill that hole in his heart!!!
